OneMedical Group is a national brand – an award-winning healthcare solutions provider to the NHS; our team was delighted to be appointed to carry out refurbishment works on one of its medical centres in the Lake District. But the brief was complex from the outset, the primary challenge coming from the fact that all works would have to be carried out around the centre’s day to day operations.

With limited access and storage space, we had to unleash our best planning skills to arrange a programme of materials delivery, rather than ordering in bulk and storing on site from the outset. “Thankfully, tight project management and scheduling is a particular forte of ours – a skill which actually helped us win this work.
It meant the creation of a rigid jobs schedule which was open, transparent and allowed everyone on our team and in the centre, information on the works being carried out. As big advocates of partnership working, we consulted the OneMedical team throughout so we could categorically ensure that we did not get in the way.”
As tight as the schedule was though, the client did make some alterations to the brief and scope of works which meant we needed to also be flexible during the programme.
Adam continued: “Because we’re personable and bespoke, the changes didn’t matter; we are always adaptable to change and as long as a transparent dialogue remains open with clients then alterations cause no harm. We just had to make it our job to keep the centre management team informed and involved.”
