Our Next Event
With such a fantastic set of events now complete, the first in March at the Etihad Stadium, Manchester, covering the Building Safety Act 2022 and Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 and the second on 14th June at the Molineux Stadium, Wolverhampton, covering real world solutions to the cladding remediation crisis, we are tremendously proud to be able to announce the venue for our third event will be the House of Lords on 26 September 2023.
Event Overview
With the deadline of high-rise residential buildings at the end of September, we will be re-visiting Building Safety Act 2022 and homing in on what this really means for property management companies, developers and landlords, with insights from our speakers on delivering cladding projects, the importance of education for the future of construction, data management and the very exciting launch of Athena – an AI tool designed to navigate the intricacies of the recently enacted Building Safety Act 2022 and its associated legislation.

Lord Richard Harrington
Executive Chairman – Intelligent-FS
Richard Harrington has served the Government in various key roles including Minister of State (Minister for Refugees) jointly in the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities and the Home Office, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Work and Pensions, Minister for the Ukrainian Refugee Programme, Business Minister and as a Member of Parliament for Watford; elected as Conservative MP for Watford from 2010 to 2019.
Life Peer, businessman, politician, entrepreneur and strategic consultant, Richard brings 30 years of construction business experience to the Board and advises on growth, governance and strategy.
Vicky Saunders
Managing Director – BTP Architects
Vicky Saunders is managing director at BTP Architects. She is an award-winning specialist in housing design and has extensive knowledge in all types of housing, including new build, refurbishment, supported living and extra care schemes.
Vicky has developed a particular specialism in tower block refurbishment and fire safety following the Grenfell tragedy, working with housing associations across the UK. She worked with Great Places Housing Group recently on a national pilot using BIM on tower blocks to provide the ‘golden thread of information’ and assist in fire safety and maintenance.
Vicky is an ISO 19650 accredited BIM specialist, Home Quality Mark Assessor and RICS/AABC conservation architect. She is a regular contributor in the press on quality in housing design and the planning process.
Lee Carroll
Director of Building Surveying – Bailey Partnership
Lee has over 19 years of experience practising as a Building Surveyor and has maintained interest and active involvement in fire safety matters throughout his career. Lee has held and maintained Chartered Status with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) for 13 years and is an Associate Member of the Institute of Fire Engineers (AIFireE).
Whilst Lee’s experience in Fire Safety matters spans the duration of his career within the education, commercial and residential sectors, within the past 5 years his workload and professional interests have become focussed on fire safety in the residential sector. Lee has successfully lead the delivery of numerous multi million pound complex remediation projects and supported many leaseholders and housing associations through funding applications and legal disputes.

Marketing, ESG & Digital Transformation Director – Intelligent-FS
Richard joined Intelligent FS in July 2021 as General Manager Acquisitions & Integrations, with nearly 20 years corporate experience within Construction, Facilities Management, Healthcare and Software Development companies. Skilled in sales leadership, business strategy and operational implementation, Richard has delivered operational leadership within a high-profile healthcare client and now manages marketing, compliance and all things digital across the business.
Nicky Harris
Managing Director – BTP Architects
A Quantity Surveyor with 15 years industrial experience working on a range of large commercial developments such as schools, hospitals, pharmaceutical laboratories, infrastructure works and sustainable communities.
Nicky now has over 10 years of experience teaching at University level across a number of different
disciplines to meet the needs of today’s ever-changing marketplace.
Nicky organises construction site visits, enabling students to contextualise their learning, gaining valuable insights into the working practices and
technologies used on today’s construction sites.
