Specialists in the built environment, Intelligent FS have been tackling the cladding crisis across the UK from their base in Altrincham. With over £31m of government contracts across Manchester, Birmingham and Leeds underway and the recent appointment of Lord Harrington as executive chairman; advising on growth, governance and strategic direction, they are rapidly becoming the leading provider of fire safety solutions to tackle unsafe cladding on buildings across the nation.
It is these solutions that brought Intelligent FS into scope for the YM Liverpool Property & Business Awards in the category of Innovation.
When considering access on one project, Intelligent FS were the only bidder to recommend making use of the surrounding canals and rivers, with specially designed barges, to both deliver materials and remove waste, turning a project constraint into both a commercial and environmental benefit.
Another saw Intelligent FS introduce a completely bespoke fire safe balcony and decking system to retrofit unsafe balconies along with the cladding remediation.
And one more required the team to come up with an approach to replacing flammable external timber walkways in such a way as to ensure access to residents’ homes was never denied. Again, the innovative use of materials saw a timber profile fire safe aluminium, not only meet the fire regulation requirements, but because this solution could be rapidly delivered, access for all residents could be maintained.
Against stiff competition, it was clear to the judges that Intelligent FS not only deploy the latest thinking, but also the latest in digital and material technology, to solve complex construction problems in pursuit of replacing unsafe cladding across Britain’s high-rise buildings.
