Works Update

Since the last project update, we have been working through a lot of initial site set up and survey/investigation works.

  • Site infrastructure has been set up including all welfare facilities and temporary power requirements for site plant.
  • Double scaffold installed to each side of the balconies on the Carruthers St elevation. This will be complete and wrapped by Wednesday 5th October.

Having the scaffold installed has also allowed us to undertake a more detailed investigation of the building that we have not been able to do before. This means that we can be 100% sure of the “as built” detail and pass this information onto consultants to finalise designs.

Upcoming Works

The next key milestone for the project is the installation of the first mast climber to the canal side of the building. This will be installed along side the scaffolding in the location shown below and will initially allow investigation surveys to continue but will also stay in place for the cladding works to follow.

The install will begin next Friday 7th October with delivery of the access equipment and we anticipate the works to take around 1 week to complete. The delivery will cause disturbance in the car park as the delivery vehicle is unloaded and transported around to the back of the building. Some cars will need to be relocated but these owners will be contacted personally to make arrangements.

In terms of the actual install, the disturbance created should be minimal. All drilling will be done into steel in order to avoid noisy concrete drilling so the main noise will just be the voices of the engineers completing the works and the sound of equipment being passed up the outside of the building.

Further updates will be added to the Milliners Wharf web page so be sure to keep an eye out by scanning the QR code at the top of this page.
