MILLINERS WHARF – 450 APARTMENT BLOCK, MANCHESTER

Following a fire safety inspection, it was found that there was a lack of suitable cavity barriers (and therefore fire separation) within the outer insulation layer of the rainscreen cladding at the party wall positions, the PIR installation inside the cavity was also found not to comply with current building regulation’s part B. As a result, a competitive tender proceeded to identify a suitable contractor, resulting in Intelligent FS being awarded.

Following a drone dilapidation survey, this project involves the replacement of cavity barriers and insulation to the external cladding system, including the removal and reuse of existing cladding panels. Works also include fire proofing to the car park soffits. A combination of scaffolding and mast climbers were designed to facilitate access.
Having undertaken a number of projects, a specific residents website was deployed for this project to facilitate communication and feedback with all affected residents. QR codes are displayed throughout the building and access equipment to provide easy access to the website – https://intelligent-fs.com/millinerswharf.
